Moshe M. Szlechter, MD is a fellowship-trained, board-certified ophthalmologist, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of medical and surgical retinal diseases at KLM Eye MDs in Midwood of Brooklyn, New York. He has an extensive educational background with particular interests in the treatment of macular degeneration and the retinal complications of diabetes mellitus.
Dr. Szlechter graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania and cum laude from Downstate Medical Center. He’s an Assistant Professor of Retinal Surgery at the Albert Einstein Medical School and has previously served there as the Clinical Instructor for resident surgery and as Chief Resident. Dr. Szlechter continues to teach retinal surgery, laser surgery, and intravitreal injection techniques to ophthalmology residents in training at the Albert Einstein School of Medicines affiliate hospitals.
Dr. Szlechter has also done extensive research in the fields of age-related macular degeneration (ARMD) and diabetic retinopathy (DR). He has been a part of five multi-center clinical trials that facilitated the approval of intravitreal injections for ARMD and DR.
Dr. Szlechter has presented his ophthalmic research at various national meetings and has recently published papers about surgery for ophthalmic infections and ophthalmic tumors.
